WordPress Zapier Integrations: Automate Posts, Forms, WooCommerce, and More

WordPress powers a large portion of the web, and its Zapier integration — plus the ecosystem of WordPress plugin integrations available on Zapier — makes it a capable automation hub for content, e-commerce, and lead generation workflows. The core WordPress Zapier connector handles post and user events; form plugins like Gravity Forms, WPForms, and Formidable Forms have their own Zapier connectors; and WooCommerce has a dedicated integration for e-commerce automation. Together, these cover the majority of automation needs for WordPress-based businesses.

WordPress Core on Zapier

The base WordPress Zapier integration provides triggers for: new post published, new post in a specific category, new comment, new user registered, and post updated. Actions include: create post, create page, create or update user, and find post. The new post trigger is the most-used — it enables automatic distribution workflows where publishing a post in WordPress fires a Zap that shares the post to social media channels, sends a newsletter segment to an email list, posts a summary in Slack, or logs the content to an analytics tracker. The user registration trigger is commonly used to route new WordPress user signups into a CRM or email marketing platform, adding the user to the appropriate list or sequence based on their registration source.

WordPress Form Plugin Zapier Integrations

Form submissions are one of the highest-value automation trigger points on any WordPress site, and the major form plugins each have Zapier connectors:

  • Gravity Forms: The Gravity Forms Zapier add-on triggers a Zap on any new form submission, passing all field values as data. This is one of the most powerful WordPress-Zapier integrations because Gravity Forms supports complex form types (multi-page, conditional logic, file uploads, payment forms) and every submission can trigger a fully customized workflow.
  • WPForms: Similar to Gravity Forms, WPForms has a Zapier connection that fires on new form entries. Works well for contact forms, survey responses, and registration forms routed into CRM or email marketing tools.
  • Formidable Forms: Formidable has a Zapier integration for new form entries, with support for repeater fields and complex form structures that other plugins do not handle as cleanly.
  • Contact Form 7: CF7 does not have a native Zapier connector but can send webhook payloads on submission via the CF7 to Zapier plugin or similar bridge — routing submissions to a Zapier Catch Hook.

WooCommerce on Zapier

WooCommerce has a dedicated Zapier integration (via the WooCommerce Zapier extension) with triggers for: new order, order status changed, new customer, new product, and new subscription. Actions include: create coupon, create customer, create order, and update order status. The most commonly automated WooCommerce workflows: when a new order is placed, send a Slack notification to the fulfillment team and create a task in a project management tool; when an order status changes to "completed," add the customer to a post-purchase email sequence; when a new subscription starts, create a customer record in the CRM and trigger an onboarding flow. WooCommerce automation via Zapier is particularly valuable for stores that use external fulfillment systems or multi-channel sales — Zapier acts as the bridge between WooCommerce and the tools managing the actual fulfillment and customer communication.

WordPress Plugin-Specific Zapier Integrations

Several WordPress plugins have their own Zapier connectors independent of the core WordPress integration:

  • MemberPress: Triggers on new member, subscription cancelled, subscription renewed — useful for routing member events into CRM and email platform
  • LearnDash: Triggers on course enrollment, course completion, quiz passed/failed — useful for certificate delivery, completion notifications, and progress tracking
  • Yoast SEO: Limited Zapier integration but can connect to workflows that monitor SEO-related events
  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF): Not a direct Zapier connector — but ACF field values are included in the standard WordPress post trigger payload, making custom field data accessible in Zaps triggered by post events
The most overlooked WordPress automation opportunity is the content distribution workflow. Most WordPress sites publish posts and then manually share them across channels. A Zap that triggers on new post publication and automatically distributes to all relevant channels — email list, social accounts, Slack, newsletter — eliminates hours of weekly manual work for content-driven businesses.

WordPress REST API and Webhooks

WordPress has a built-in REST API that is accessible to Zapier via the Webhooks by Zapier action, enabling read and write operations against any WordPress content type — posts, pages, custom post types, users, comments, and more — without being limited to what the native Zapier connector exposes. For outbound triggers from WordPress events not covered by the core connector, plugins like WP Webhooks or Uncanny Automator can fire webhook payloads to a Zapier Catch Hook URL on virtually any WordPress event. This approach is the recommended path for complex WordPress automation requirements. See Zapier missing trigger or action workarounds for the implementation pattern.
